It was due to the dedication shown by the society’s president, Mr. S. Gursewak Sanyasi combined with the support of various categories of people that the society was founded in 2000. The society has even organized a wide range of traffic camps in order to inform people about all sorts of traffic rules that need to be followed and the dangers of violating them. Some people have even had the privilege of getting licenses for free.

The society works for installing all the requisite facilities in the common modes of transport in Moga which include rehries, tractors, cycles, trollies and so on. A van with the tag of Antim Yatra is alos run by the society in order to assist the common people in carrying the dead bodies of their beloved ones across different parts of the district and to the grounds made for cremation as well. Many people say that some such vans are also utilized for carrying the victims of accidents immediately to the hospitals.

However, the frequency of the different kinds of accidents has forced the Samaj Sewa Society in Moga to provide two emergency vans or ambulances which are equipped with all the essential facilities for assisting the patients. What more, you can also find nurses and doctors in the vans who are capable of giving the necessary first aid to the patients so that they can reach the hospital in proper condition. According to records, the society holds the reputation for nearly seventeen hundred different kinds of road accidents till date.

Even if you find dead bodies which haven’t been identified, you can be sure that the last rituals such as bhog, cremation and others necessary for their safe afterlife are taken care by the society. Many such bodies have been found in railway lines, canals and some completely unknown places. It has the cremation list of 73 unknown dead bodies till date.

Even today, the society plays a major role and extends a helping hand in organizing medical camps for free, especially in the villages. It also takes responsibilities for organizing the famous street plays for exhibiting the harmful effects of different kinds of social evils. A training center for sewing for training poor girls in painting, knitting and sewing has been set up as well.
