Ajitwal Mosque in Moga

Located on the Borders of the tiny village of Ajitwal in the district of Moga, a mosque 3 centuries old stood without Aizaan and in Hiatus for 60 years. Last year in the month of December, as part of the renovation programs undertaken by the Muslim community, it was renovated. Due to the request of the Shahi Imam of Punjab, the youth in the region of the Ajitwal brought forth the renovated mosque after cleaning and painting the older one. This is one of the gorgeous historic buildings of the place now. In December last year, when Shahi Imam of Punjab, Moulana Habibur Rehman Sani took the upper hand to restore the mosque, the Sikhs and the Hindus of the region were elated to join hands for the renovation of the same. The youth of Moga district irrespective of their Hindu and Sikh religions, cleaned and painted the old mosque and handed over the key to Shahi Imam.

Located at the block adjacent to Nihal Singh wala, the Mehdiana Sahib Gurudwara is an extensively built and huge Sikh Temple. Set in grey and green paints, the Gurudwara is a historic place that catches the attention of all and sundry. The mouth-watering Prasad of the Gurudwara is also famous as “Lunger” and is like blessings upon the devotees of the Gurudwara.

One of the oldest of the Gurudwara’s of the district Moga, Nanaskar Sahib Gurudwara is situated in the village of Takhtupura. This Sikh temple boasts of being a holier place as a number of saints of Sikh religion have visited the premises of the temple. Among those saints Hargobind Singh, Gobind Singh, and Guru Nanak Dev are just to name a few. There is also a small river in this area which is named after Guru Nanak Dev and is popular as the “Nanak Sarovar”.
